Nueva Acropolis

There is a huge annual music competition in Lima called Nueva Acropolis. Roosevelt has participated for something like the last 30 years and has won the majority of those times. It was a little stressful to come into this new school and have to prepare for a competition in 6 weeks. But the kids did a great job and we managed to pull it off. We won't know if we have won until sometime next week, which is fine with me. The winning isn't important - I'm more interested in the process of preparing for a performance. And now that Nueva Acropolis is over, we have started working on new music for our next concert in November.
(Thanks to my friends Tim and Reada for chaperoning and being great photographers!)

Here are my students, getting ready to perform.
And here we are, in action.

How could you not win? For I believe that it is a win win situation. You and the students win just by participating, preparing, that way they know how to prepare for the competitions in life, and how to be a winner even if you don't take home the "gold". Love seeing you in action, you look so slim!!! I am flying home to NH the end of this month, hope to be able to connect with your mom and dad. Mom is having trouble accessing blog, and I hope that I am able to help her out, but don't know as she has web tv, if it is capable. Love ya, Cousin Deb
