Another retail wonder of Lima is this enormous market called Polvos Azules, which means "Blue Dust", I think. It is a huge black market where you can buy pretty much anything, from shoes and clothes to electronics, all at very, very discounted prices. Apparently the government turns a blind eye to this black market business and it definitely thrives. Anne, Reada and I went there to buy cheap DVDs and when I say cheap, I mean cheap. I bought the entire first 2 seasons of Grey's Anatomy (my new favorite show - I had never seen it before I moved down here and now I am hooked) for $13. Yes, you read that right - $13 for two seasons! And the quality is really good, not like those sketchy copies you sometimes see.
I can't even begin to tell you how crazy Polvos is. I wish I could have taken pictures, but everyone says not to bring bags into the market - there are pickpockets everywhere. Just picture row after row and stall after stall of everything imaginable. It is quite a sight!
